Shardiye Navratri 2024: The fourth grand form of Maa Durga is Maa Kushmanda. It is customary to worship her on the fourth day of Navratri. The glory of Maa Kushmanda is unique. Who is Maa Kushmanda?
She is the fourth form of Navdurga. She has eight arms. In her seven hands, she has a kamandal, bow, arrow, lotus flower, urn, chakra and mace respectively. In the eighth hand, she has a garland that gives all the siddhis and treasures. The Amrit Kalash in the hands of the goddess blesses her devotees with long life and good health. Maa rides a lion, which is a symbol of religion.
How to worship Maa Kushmanda?
On the fourth day of Navratri, wear green or orange clothes and worship Maa Kushmanda. During the puja, offer green cardamom, fennel or pumpkin to the mother. Offer as many green cardamoms to Maa Kushmanda as your age. Say “Om Bum Budhaya Namah” while offering each cardamom. Collect all the cardamoms and tie them in a green cloth. Keep the cardamoms safe with you till Sharadiya Navratri.
