The earth has shaken once again in the country. Earthquake tremors were felt in Jammu-Kashmir on Tuesday morning. The earth shook twice back to back in about 6 minutes. Due to which people came out of their homes. The intensity of the earthquake was measured 4.9 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of both the earthquakes was in Baramulla, Jammu-Kashmir. However, there has been no report of any loss of life or property due to the earthquake tremors.
Earthquake tremors felt for the first time at 6.45 am on Tuesday
Giving information, the National Center for Seismology said that the tremors of the earthquake were felt for the first time at around 6:45:57 am on Tuesday morning. Its depth inside the ground was 5 kilometers. The epicenter of the earthquake was Baramulla. The intensity of this earthquake was measured at 4.9 on the Richter scale. The second time the tremors were felt at around 6.52:29 am. Its depth inside the ground was 10 kilometers. The epicenter of this earthquake was also Baramulla. The intensity of the earthquake was also measured at 4.9 on the Richter scale.
Tremors were also felt in the areas around Poonch-Kupwara
Earthquake tremors were felt in Baramulla, Poonch-Kupwara and the areas around Kupwara. Due to the tremors, many people came out of their houses. However, no damage has been reported due to this earthquake. It should be noted that earthquake tremors have been felt in Jammu and Kashmir before this as well. Kishtwar has been the epicentre of earthquakes in Jammu and Kashmir many times. Last month in July too, earthquake tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from Jammu and Kashmir, earthquake tremors were also felt in Ladakh on Saturday morning.
Why do earthquakes occur?
It is said that tectonic plates (rocks in simple language) are present in the inner structure of the earth. These plates keep moving continuously. Keep a distance from them. Find a completely empty land and reach there.
