The Indian automotive market is gearing up for a thrilling start to 2026, with as many as 7 new cars launches scheduled in January. Major automakers including Kia, Mahindra, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Renault, Skoda, and Nissan are set to introduce a mix of electric vehicles, fresh models, and mid-life facelifts. Here’s a detailed look at the upcoming launches.
1. All-New Kia Seltos
Kia is set to make waves with the launch of the second-generation Seltos. Built on the advanced K3 platform, the SUV boasts a completely refreshed design both inside and out. Dimensionally, it is 95 mm longer, 30 mm wider, and features an 80 mm longer wheelbase compared to the outgoing model.
Bookings are already open with a token amount of Rs. 25,000. Engine options include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo diesel, and 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol (tGDi). Price announcements are expected on January 2, 2026, with deliveries starting mid-month.
2. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
Maruti Suzuki will finally debut its first electric vehicle in India—the e Vitara. Expected price announcements in January 2026 will reveal details for the three trims: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha.
The EV will feature two battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh, offering an ARAI-rated range of up to 543 km on a single charge. Built on the Heartect-e platform, it comes with front-wheel drive and delivers 172 bhp with 193 Nm of torque in the larger battery variant.
3. Renault Duster
Renault plans to unveil the all-new Duster in India on January 26, 2026. The SUV, based on the CMF-B platform, is expected to feature a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine producing 154 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.
The company is also exploring a localized hybrid powertrain for the Duster. While its design closely follows the international model, India-specific updates are expected.
4. Skoda Kushaq Facelift
The Skoda Kushaq is set to receive its first mid-life facelift in January 2026. Updates will include a refreshed front fascia, new alloy wheels, and a redesigned rear profile. Inside, expect minor layout tweaks, a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS features.
Engine options will remain unchanged with the 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines, paired with both manual and automatic transmissions.
5. Mahindra XUV7XO
Mahindra’s mid-life facelift of the XUV700, named XUV7XO, will debut on January 5, 2026. The SUV features a redesigned exterior and updated interiors inspired by the all-electric XEV 9S.
Highlights include a triple-screen dashboard layout, massage front seats, ventilated rear seats in the 6-seater variant, 16-speaker sound system, multi-color ambient lighting, and more. Powertrains include the familiar 2.0-litre mStallion petrol and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engines.
6. Nissan Gravite MPV
Nissan is entering the compact MPV segment with the Gravite, a 7-seater based on the Renault Triber, expected to launch in January 2026. Prices will be revealed in March 2026. While retaining the CMF-A+ platform, the Gravite will feature distinct exterior and interior updates while maintaining the Triber’s silhouette.
The MPV will use a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 76 hp and 95 Nm of torque, shared with the Triber and lower trims of the Magnite and Kiger.
7. Tata Punch Facelift
Tata Motors is set to launch the mid-life facelift of the Punch micro-SUV in January 2026. The update includes a redesigned exterior shared with the upcoming Punch EV, with minor modifications.
Inside, the cabin will feature a new steering wheel, updated dashboard, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, and a fully digital instrument cluster. Engine options remain unchanged, with the familiar 1.2-litre petrol and CNG variants.
