Hyundai India has officially stepped into the fleet vehicle market with its all-new Prime range, designed specifically for commercial and taxi operations. The lineup includes the Prime HB, based on the Grand i10 Nios, and the Prime SD, derived from the Aura.
Pricing and Comparison
The ex-showroom prices for Hyundai’s fleet-focused vehicles start at Rs 6 lakh for the Prime HB and Rs 6.90 lakh for the Prime SD. For comparison, the regular Grand i10 Nios CNG is priced from Rs 7.17 lakh, while the base Aura CNG starts at Rs 6.90 lakh.

Engine and Performance
Both the Prime HB and Prime SD are powered by Hyundai’s 1.2-litre petrol+CNG engine paired with a manual transmission. The models are engineered for efficiency, with Hyundai claiming 28.40 km/kg for the Prime SD and 27.32 km/kg for the Prime HB. A factory-fitted 80 km/h speed limiter ensures fleet safety and compliance.
Comfort and Convenience
Despite being tailored for fleet use, both models retain several passenger-friendly features, including rear AC vents, front Type-C charging ports, and all four power windows. Optional upgrades include a 9.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a vehicle location tracking system with four panic buttons.
Safety Equipment
Safety remains a priority in these fleet models, with six airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all seats, and other standard safety measures to protect passengers and drivers alike.
Warranty and Fleet Support
Hyundai is offering an extended warranty covering the 4th and 5th years or 1,80,000 km, whichever comes first. Flexible financing options are available with tenures up to 72 months, making it easier for fleet operators to manage costs. Additionally, trained fleet care advisors will be available at Hyundai dealerships to provide dedicated support to taxi and fleet customers.
Fleet Segment Competition in India
Hyundai joins other major carmakers maintaining official fleet operations in India, including Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, and Tata Motors. With its Prime HB and Prime SD, Hyundai aims to offer a combination of efficiency, comfort, and safety tailored specifically for commercial use.
