Major Functional Upgrade on the Cards
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift, expected to debut in early 2026, is shaping up to be more than a routine cosmetic refresh. Instead of limiting changes to styling alone, Maruti Suzuki is reportedly working on a practical upgrade that could significantly enhance daily usability. Recent spy sightings suggest that the compact SUV may adopt an underfloor CNG tank layout, a setup already seen on newer Maruti models like the Victoris.
Underfloor CNG Tank to Improve Practicality
If introduced, the underfloor CNG cylinder would be a major advantage for buyers choosing the factory-fitted CNG variant. Current CNG versions of the Brezza sacrifice boot space due to the tank being mounted inside the luggage compartment. Relocating the cylinder beneath the floor would free up much of this lost storage, making the SUV far more practical for family use. Test vehicles spotted with CNG badging on the rear windshield strongly indicate that Maruti Suzuki is actively evaluating this layout for the facelift.
Powertrain Likely to Remain Unchanged
Mechanically, the facelifted Brezza is expected to continue with its existing engine options. The familiar 1.5-litre K15C four-cylinder petrol engine should be carried over without changes, delivering 102 bhp and 137 Nm of torque. The CNG version is also likely to retain its current output figures of 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm, focusing more on efficiency than outright performance.
Transmission Options and Platform Details
Transmission choices are expected to stay the same as well. A manual gearbox will continue to be offered on both petrol and CNG variants, while the 6-speed torque converter automatic will remain exclusive to petrol models. The Brezza facelift will continue to be based on Maruti Suzuki’s Global C platform. Although there has been speculation about the introduction of Level 2 ADAS, test mules spotted so far do not clearly indicate the presence of advanced driver assistance systems.
Subtle Exterior Refresh
Design updates on the outside appear to be conservative. Spy images reveal a new alloy wheel design and mild revisions to the front fascia. Updated lighting elements and refined detailing are expected to give the Brezza a slightly sharper and more modern appearance, with subtle inspiration drawn from newer Maruti Suzuki offerings such as the Victoris.
Rear Design Changes Kept Minimal
The SUV’s overall silhouette and proportions remain unchanged. At the rear, updates are expected to be minimal, possibly limited to revised tail-lamp internals. Existing elements like the roof-mounted spoiler with integrated high-mounted stop lamp and the shark fin antenna are likely to continue without alteration.
Interior and Feature Upgrades Expected
While spy shots have not yet revealed the cabin, the facelifted Brezza is expected to receive notable interior enhancements. Anticipated upgrades include a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a new digital instrument cluster, improved material quality, and more premium surface finishes to keep the cabin competitive in the segment.
