CUET-PG Applications Open
The Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses (CUET-PG) for the academic year 2026-27 is now open, according to Prof. Battu Satyanarayana, Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Karnataka (CUK). The application process commenced on December 14, 2025.
Exam Mode and Application Deadline
Prof. Satyanarayana confirmed that the examination will be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Aspirants can submit their applications online until January 14, 2026, at 11:50 p.m. Applications can be submitted via the official NTA portals https://exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg/ and www.nta.ac.in, with additional information available on the CUK website www.cuk.ac.in.
Fee Payment and Form Corrections
The last date to pay the examination fee is January 14, 2026. Applicants will have an opportunity to make corrections in their forms between January 18 and January 20, 2026. Examination centers will be announced later, after which candidates can download their admission cards from the NTA website. The examinations are scheduled to be held in March 2026.
Courses and Seat Distribution
CUET-PG will be conducted for Central Universities and other participating institutions nationwide. In addition to the existing 30 postgraduate programmes, CUK has introduced five new courses this year: M.A. in Library and Information Science, M.Sc. in Botany, Zoology, and Statistics and Data Analytics, and M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Most programmes offer 30 seats, while the MBA programme has 60 seats, and M.Ed. and B.Ed. programmes have 50 seats each. For M.Tech courses, 50% of seats will be filled through CUET-PG, while the remaining 50% will be allocated through GATE.
Eligibility Criteria and Reservations
Students currently in the sixth semester of undergraduate programmes or appearing for the fifth semester examinations are eligible to apply. Regarding reservations, three seats in each postgraduate programme are reserved for students from the Kalyana Karnataka region, and an additional three seats are set aside for candidates from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
Examination Centres
CUET-PG will be conducted across 292 centres, including 16 international locations. In Karnataka, exams will take place in 15 cities, with Kalaburagi and Ballari specifically representing the Kalyana Karnataka region.
