Vietnam Airlines flight VN1, operated by a state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner, successfully completed its journey from Hanoi to Long Thanh after more than two hours in the air. Onboard the aircraft were Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and nearly 100 passengers, signaling a new chapter in Vietnam’s aviation development.

A representative from Vietnam Airlines emphasized that the safe landing of the wide-body aircraft, following a technical verification flight on December 15, showcases Long Thanh International Airport’s readiness for commercial operations. The official also noted the strong coordination among relevant ministries, agencies, and service units, reflecting the country’s commitment to modernizing its aviation infrastructure.

Vietnam Airlines General Director Le Hong Ha remarked that the inaugural commercial passenger flight to Long Thanh not only opens a new operational phase for the national carrier but also accelerates Vietnam’s aviation modernization. - Resumption of flights to Vinh Airport in Nghe An province.
