Nissan India has officially confirmed the name of its upcoming Triber-based B-MPV, christened the Gravite. This new model marks a significant step for the brand, as it becomes only the second mainstream Nissan offering in the Indian market after the Magnite. While Nissan also retails the premium X-Trail SUV, priced from Rs. 48.20 lakh (ex-showroom), the Gravite is expected to strengthen the company’s presence in the affordable mass-market segment.
Launch Timeline and Market Debut Plans
Nissan has outlined a clear roadmap for the Gravite’s introduction in India. The MPV is expected to make its full public debut next month, showcasing its design and features. The official launch, along with pricing details, is scheduled by the end of the first quarter of 2026. Following this, the Gravite will begin arriving at Nissan dealerships across the country in March 2026, positioning it as a practical and budget-friendly people mover for Indian buyers.
Focus on Affordable Mobility
Based on the Renault Triber platform, the Nissan Gravite is likely to cater to families looking for versatility, space, and value. With its B-MPV positioning, the model is expected to offer flexible seating and competitive pricing, helping Nissan appeal to a wider audience and regain momentum in a highly competitive segment.
Nissan’s Broader Product Pipeline for India
Beyond the Gravite, Nissan is actively developing additional models tailored for the Indian market. One of the most anticipated is the Tekton, Nissan’s version of the upcoming Renault Duster. Positioned as a rival to popular midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and the upcoming Tata Sierra, the Tekton is expected to be unveiled in February next year. Looking further ahead, Nissan is also planning a seven-seat variant of its C-SUV, which is scheduled to enter the market in 2027, reinforcing the brand’s long-term commitment to India.
