Banks Remain Open on November 29, 2025
Today, November 29, 2025, banks across India will remain open as it falls on the fifth Saturday of the month. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) region-wise holiday calendar for the fiscal year 2025-26, banks generally observe closures on weekends, except for the first, third, and fifth Saturdays of each month.
The RBI clarified, “All scheduled and non-scheduled banks will observe public holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays.”
Upcoming Bank Holidays
The next bank holiday in India is tomorrow, November 30, 2025, as it is a Sunday. For the month of November, there are no additional holidays apart from the regular weekend closures.
However, banks in specific regions will observe special holidays. In Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, banks will be closed in observance of State Inauguration Day and Indigenous Faith Day, resulting in two consecutive days of bank closure in these areas.
Banking Services Available on Holidays
Customers should note that online banking services remain operational nationwide during bank holidays. This ensures uninterrupted access to essential banking functions, allowing users to carry out transactions conveniently even when branches are closed.
When Banks Are Typically Closed
The RBI designates bank holidays based on national, religious, and regional events, which can vary across states. In addition to festival-related closures, banks are regularly closed on the second and fourth Saturdays as well as all Sundays each month.
