Mahindra Vision S Cabin Revealed – Is This the Future of SUVs in India? See Inside Pics & Features!
Mahindra & Mahindra has pulled the covers off its latest innovation in SUV design with the unveiling of the Mahindra Vision S concept. Showcased during the company’s Independence Day event, the Vision S is one of four futuristic concepts revealed — and it could very well evolve into the next-generation Mahindra Bolero.
While its exterior design marks a bold departure from Mahindra’s traditional SUV styling, it’s the interior that truly showcases the brand’s new design direction. Digital images of the Vision S cabin suggest a tech-heavy, spacious, and ergonomically enhanced approach never seen before in Mahindra vehicles.

Quite Futuristic Dashboard with Dual Screens
Dominating the dashboard are two separate 12-inch digital displays, divided by a vertical air conditioning vent. Unlike the current trend of merging digital clusters into a single slab, Mahindra opts for a more functional and symmetrical layout.
- Likely to be powered by a new in-house operating system, these screens are expected to deliver a refined user experience with fresh UI graphics and intuitive controls.
- The concept introduces a three-spoke round steering wheel that features haptic touch controls for multiple functions — a first for Mahindra.
Return of Physical Buttons: Functionality Over Flash
Interestingly, Mahindra has decided to buck the all-digital trend seen in modern cars by reintroducing physical controls on the center console.
- The cabin includes physical buttons and knobs for the climate control system and other essential vehicle functions.
- These tactile controls are intelligently stacked to develop muscle memory, allowing drivers to use them without taking their eyes off the road — a thoughtful touch in a tech-saturated era.
Built on the Versatile NU.IQ Architecture
The Vision S Concept is underpinned by Mahindra’s new NU.IQ platform, built to support:
- Lengths from 3,990 mm to 4,320 mm, making it suitable for both sub-4 metre SUVs and larger vehicles.
- Wheelbase of 2,665 mm for improved cabin space.
- Adjustable front (745-850 mm) and rear overhangs (550-805 mm).
- Powertrain flexibility, including FWD and AWD options, and compatibility with both left-hand and right-hand drive markets.
Despite being a concept, the Vision S already hints at segment-leading cabin space, smart platform engineering, and modular capabilities, making it ideal for mass production with various body styles and use cases.
While Mahindra hasn’t officially confirmed that the Vision S is the successor to the Bolero, the design cues and size suggest a modern reinterpretation of the iconic SUV. With rugged DNA, versatile architecture, and advanced tech, it could redefine what the Bolero stands for in the modern age.
Stay Tuned for More Sneak Peeks!
With Mahindra moving in a bold new direction, the Vision S not only previews a vehicle but an entire philosophy shift in how Indian SUVs are designed and experienced. More images and details are expected soon as Mahindra continues to tease its next-gen lineup.
