New Delhi: Tollywood choreographer Shaik Jani Basha aka Jani Master was arrested by the Cyberabad Police from Goa. For those who do not know, the artist was accused of rape by his former colleague. On Wednesday (September 18), a day before his arrest, Jani Master was charged with Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) in a sexual abuse complaint. Following the arrest, he is being transferred to Hyderabad to present him before the court.
Why was Jani Master arrested in Goa?
A few days ago, Jani Master’s ex-colleague revealed that she was a junior choreographer in his team when he sexually abused her. She further claimed that he continuously maltreated her for six years during outdoor shoots. The woman stated that these incidents happened back in 2019. However, she couldn’t confess her ordeal after the choreographer threatened her.
Notably, the incident in question occurred when she was 16. Henceforth, Jani Master was charged under the POCSO Act. The complaint was registered in Cyberabad’s Narsingi police on September 18.
A report by The Hindu revealed that the 21-year-old filed her complaint in Hyderabad’s Raidurgam police. Jani Master is booked under clause (2) and (n) of section 376 (rape), criminal intimidation (506) and voluntarily causing hurt (323) of the IPC.

For the unversed, the actor has worked with Jani Master on a number of songs including his massive hit Butta Booma. Allu Arjun promised to include the victim in all his upcoming projects and those produced by Geetha Arts, ensuring a secure and supportive space for women in the industry.
