3 more JJP MLAs resigned in Haryana

Posted on August 17, 2024 By NewsTodayLive Team

The schedule for the assembly elections-2024 has been announced in Haryana yesterday i.e. on 16th August. Since then, there has been an earthquake in the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP). JJP MLAs are submitting their resignations to the party leadership. In this way, there has been a spate of resignations in JJP. After the announcement of the election, while former minister and Uklana MLA Anoop Dhanak resigned first, after this, now one by one 3 more MLAs have submitted their resignations to the party leadership.

These 3 MLAs who resigned are Tohana MLA and former minister Devendra Singh Babli, Shahabad MLA Ramkaran Kala and Guhla MLA Ishwar Singh. All these MLAs have resigned from all posts and responsibilities of the party and have asked the party leadership to accept the resignation. These resignations have come at a time when on the announcement of elections, JJP leader Dushyant Chautala had said that I request all the workers, supporters and voters that forgetting mutual differences, this is the time for a new beginning, to move forward with new morale.

Devendra Singh Babli was made cabinet minister

Devendra Singh Babli is an MLA from Tohna. In 2019, he defeated former BJP state president Subhash Barala by a huge margin of votes. At the same time, Devendra Singh Babli was made a cabinet minister on 28 December 2021 in the JJP and BJP coalition government. He had two portfolios. Babli was also given the Panchayati Raj Department.

Anoop Dhanak was also made a minister

Anoop Dhanak is an MLA from Uklana and defeated BJP’s Asha Khedar in the 2019 elections. Dhanak was among the four MLAs who joined the JJP after the split in the Indian National Lok Dal. Dhanak was named as Minister of Independent Charge for Archaeology and Museums and Labor and Employment in the JJP and BJP coalition government.

Voting for assembly elections in Haryana in one phase

Assembly elections in Haryana will be held in one phase. Notification for nomination will be issued on 5 September in Haryana. The last date for nomination will be 12 September. Scrutiny of nominations filed for the elections will be done on 13 September. Candidates will be able to withdraw their nominations till 16 September. Voting for the assembly elections in Haryana will be held on 1 October. The results of Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections will be declared simultaneously on 4 October.

How many polling stations and how many voters in Haryana

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has informed that voting will be held on a total of 90 assembly seats in 22 districts of Haryana. Out of these 90 seats, there are 73 general, 0 ST and 17 SC seats. The total number of voters in Haryana is 2.01 crore. Out of these total voters, 1.06 crore are male and 0.95 crore are female voters.

The number of young voters (age-20 to 29) in Haryana is 40.95 lakh. While the number of first time voters (age-18 to 19) is 4.52 lakh. Along with this, PWS, elderly and third gender voters are also included. Apart from this, 20 thousand 629 polling stations have been set up at 10 thousand 495 locations in Haryana. Where people will come to cast their votes.

This time early assembly elections in Haryana

The term of the current assembly in Haryana is going to end on November 3, 2024. That is, the term of the current government in Haryana will end on November 3, 2024. The last assembly election in Haryana was held in the year 2019 for a total of 90 assembly seats. Then the Election Commission had issued a notification for election nominations on 27 September and nominations were filed till 4 October. At the same time, 7 October was the date for withdrawal of nominations. While in 2019, voting for the Haryana Assembly elections was held on 21 October. After which the votes cast in the assembly elections were counted on 24 October and the result was declared.

No party got majority

No party got majority in the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections. A party needs 46 seats on its own to get majority in the total 90 assembly seats of Haryana. But after the results, the ruling party BJP won 40 seats, Congress 31 seats, JJP 10 and others 9 seats. After which BJP and JJP formed an alliance and ran a coalition government in the state under the leadership of CM Manohar Lal.

But this coalition government fell apart before the Lok Sabha elections this year. On March 12, BJP broke its alliance with JJP and with this Manohar Lal Khattar resigned from the post of Chief Minister. After which on the same day Naib Singh Saini took oath as the new Chief Minister of Haryana with the number of MLAs fixed to form the government. At present there is a BJP government in Haryana under the leadership of Naib Singh Saini. At the same time, there is a possibility of a four-way contest between BJP, Congress, JJP and AAP in the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024. On the other hand, INLD is also in the fray with full force this time.

INLD and Mayawati’s BSP party have entered the election fray in alliance. This time it remains to be seen which party the people of Haryana bring to power. It is known that BJP has suffered a major setback in the Haryana Lok Sabha elections. While BJP won all the 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP had to face defeat on 5 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. These seats went to the account of Congress. Which did not get a single Lok Sabha seat in 2019.
