Jalalabad: An accident took place this morning near Basti Kalu Wala on Fazilka Road when a car collided with a Punjab Roadways bus. Although there was no loss of life in this accident, both the vehicles were badly damaged. According to the information received, the Punjab Roadways bus going from Fazilka to Ferozepur was going near Basti Kalu Wala on F-F National Highway. During this time, a car was coming from Jalalabad which went out of control due to a deep pit on the road.
A Punjab Roadways bus and a car collided, due to which the Punjab Roadways bus collided with the electricity meter box installed on the roadside. This accident was so terrible that while the car was badly damaged, the roadways bus was also badly damaged. The bus colliding with the electricity meter caused a major accident and the passengers sitting in the bus had a narrow escape. As soon as the people of Basti Kaluwala came to know about this accident, they immediately reached the spot and pulled out a person trapped in the car, who suffered minor injuries.
Giving information to the media, the driver of the roadways bus present on the spot said that the car was coming at a high speed and went out of control and fell into a ditch on the road and collided with the bus. He tried to save the bus very intelligently but still the bus collided with the pole on the roadside and collided with the electric meter box and the passengers in the bus had a narrow escape.
He said that this accident happened due to speeding, he said that car drivers or drivers of other vehicles should drive cars or other vehicles at a low speed. On this occasion, the people of Basti Kaluwala said that there are deep potholes on the F-F road here, due to which accidents often happen due to vehicles passing at high speed. There is an atmosphere of fear all the time, due to which the residents of the colony have filled some of the potholes on the road with soil at their own level. People demand that this dilapidated road should be repaired so that there can be relief from the accidents happening here.
