Yogi government takes big action on paper leak, gangster charges imposed on 23 including gang leader Rajiv Nayan

Kaushambi’s Manjhanpur Kotwali police has taken action under the Gangster Act against 23 accused including Rajiv Nayan Mishra, the kingpin of the gang that leaked the question paper of competitive exams. Cases are already registered against all of them in Manjhanpur, Kokhraj and Civil Lines police stations of Prayagraj. Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission had organized the RO/ARO examination on 11 February 2024. The gang members had collected a hefty amount from the candidates by leaking the paper before the exam date. When the matter was revealed, the STF arrested three gang members Ayush Pandey, Puneet Singh and Naveen Singh from Manjhanpur area. A case was registered against them in Manjhanpur Kotwali.

During the investigation, the names of the gang leader Rajiv Nayan Mishra and 20 others came to light. 19 members including the gang leader have been arrested by the STF. An FIR related to leaking the paper of this exam was also registered at the Civil Lines police station in Prayagraj at the same time. Manjhanpur police has filed a chargesheet against all the members of the gang. Now action has been taken against all 23 members including the gang leader under the Gangster Act. SP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava said that this gang had also leaked the question paper of the Teacher Eligibility Test held in the year 2021. This exam was held at many centers in the district. Kokhraaj police had registered a case in the matter.

Now property details are being collected

After taking action against the Paper Leak gang under the Gangster Act, the Kaushambi police is now collecting property details of all the members. SP Brijesh Srivastava said that any property the gang members have acquired from crime will be confiscated soon.

Five accused are lodged in Kaushambi jail

Manjhanpur’s Kotwal Santosh Sharma said that four members of the Paper Leak gang are still absconding. Raids are being conducted at possible hideouts to search them. Accused Arpit Dilip Yashwant, Amit Singh, Dr. Sharad, Kamlesh Kumar and Abhishek Shukla are in Kaushambi jail. The gang leader Rajiv Nayan is lodged in Meerut jail. He was caught by the STF. Remaining 13 members are lodged in Prayagraj and Meerut jails.

According to SP Brijesh Shrivastava, Gangster action has been taken against all the members including the kingpin of the gang that leaked question papers of competitive exams. Details of their properties are being collected. Soon the properties will be confiscated. Raids are being conducted at possible hideouts in search of the absconding accused.
