
Mahashivratri Celebrations in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, February 25 – The city is all set to celebrate Mahashivratri, a significant festival in the Hindu calendar, with great fervor and devotion. Various events and programs have been organized across the city to mark the occasion.
Shri Kheda Shiv Temple to Host Special Pooja
The ancient Shri Kheda Shiv Temple in Sector 28-D will host a special pooja ceremony on February 26. The temple’s priest, Pandit Subhash, informed that the ceremony will begin at 4:30 am with the Shaligram Pooja, followed by Rudra Abhishek by the temple committee’s president, Desraj Bansal. A total of 1100 bilva leaves will be offered to the Shivalinga, and a continuous bhog of milk and fruits will be arranged throughout the day. The temple will also host a four-prahar pooja ceremony, which will continue till 5 am on February 27.
Shiv Tandav Yoga to be Highlight of Bhajan Sandhya
The Shri Hari Simran Seva Samiti and Devbhoomi Radha Krishna Kirtan Mandal have jointly organized a Bhajan Sandhya and Shiv Chalisa Path on February 26 at 3 pm at the ancient Jwala Mata Temple in Sector 45. The event will feature a Shiv Tandav Yoga performance by young yoga guru Aastha Sharma. The program will also include presentations by the Shikhar Himalaya Jan Sanskritik Samiti, Kapkot, and local kirtan mandalis.
Two-Day Mahashivratri Mahotsav at Shri Siddh Baba Balak Nath Temple
The Shri Siddh Baba Balak Nath Temple in Sector 29 has commenced a two-day Mahashivratri Mahotsav. The temple’s managing committee president, Vinod Chadha, informed that the event features discourses and kirtans by Swami Varinder Hari Ji Maharaj from Vrindavan Dharm. A mahila sankirtan will be held on February 26 from 10 am to 12 pm, followed by a discourse by Swami Ji from 3 pm to 6 pm.
