Ultraviolette X-47: The Future of Electric Motorcycles

Posted on September 24, 2025September 24, 2025 By Sorit Chaudhary

Introduction to a Global First

Ultraviolette Automotive has made headlines once again with the groundbreaking launch of the X-47 Crossover, the world’s first production motorcycle integrated with radar technology. Priced competitively at ₹2.49 lakh (ex-showroom), this next-generation electric two-wheeler blends cutting-edge safety features, powerful performance, and remarkable range—all in one futuristic package.

Radar-Driven Rider Intelligence

Introducing UV HyperSense ARAS

Setting a new industry benchmark, the X-47 is equipped with a 77 GHz long-range radar system coupled with dual HD cameras, powering the advanced UV HyperSense Advanced Rider Assistance System (ARAS). This integrated system introduces safety innovations rarely seen in motorcycles, such as:

  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Lane change assist
  • Rear collision warning
  • Overtake alerts

These features mark a transformative shift in rider safety, elevating the motorcycle’s awareness and response on the road.

Performance That Electrifies

Powertrain Specifications

The Ultraviolette X-47 is engineered to deliver an exhilarating ride:

  • Motor Output: 40.2 hp (30 kW)
  • Torque: A jaw-dropping 610 Nm at the wheel
  • 0–60 km/h Acceleration: Just 2.7 seconds
  • Top Speed: 145 km/h

This performance places the X-47 at the top tier of electric motorcycles, offering the thrill of speed with zero emissions.

Battery Options and Range

Riders can choose between two advanced battery configurations:

  • 7.1 kWh battery – Delivers up to 211 km (IDC range)
  • 10.3 kWh battery – Offers an extended range of up to 323 km (IDC)

Ultraviolette has further enhanced usability with its Parallel Boost Charging system, which combines onboard and auxiliary chargers to significantly reduce charging time, making it more convenient for daily and long-distance travel.

Built for Precision and Control

Premium Components

The X-47 doesn’t just deliver performance—it ensures control and safety with high-end hardware:

  • Brembo braking system
  • Bosch 10th-generation dual-channel ABS
  • Three traction control levels
  • 41 mm inverted front forks
  • Preload-adjustable rear mono-shock

Together, these components ensure optimal handling, superior ride comfort, and top-tier road safety.

Strategic Expansion and Global Ambitions

Production and Export Plans

Ultraviolette is scaling rapidly. With ambitions to sell 10,000 units in FY26, the company is ramping up its Bengaluru facility to support an annual production capacity of 1 lakh units.

Currently exporting to over 10 European markets, Ultraviolette plans to expand its international footprint to 40 global markets in the near future. Additionally, an initial public offering (IPO) is under active consideration for FY27–28, signaling robust investor and market confidence.

A Game-Changer in the EV Landscape

With radar-powered safety, exceptional torque, and a long-range battery, the Ultraviolette X-47 is poised to redefine electric motorcycling in India and around the world. Experts across the automotive industry hail it as a technological milestone—one that brings car-like safety to two-wheelers without compromising on thrill or affordability.
