The workers’ agitation ended with the announcement of elections

Posted on August 17, 2024 By NewsTodayLive Team

Chandigarh:  With the announcement of elections in Haryana, the agitations of employees in many departments including the health department have also ended. The employees of the National Health Mission (NHM), who were agitating for the last one month, also returned to work on Saturday.

With the announcement of elections, the demands of the employee organizations have been put on hold. Now with the coming of the new government in the state, the employees will again become aggressive. In Haryana, the NHM employees were on strike for their demands for the last 25 days. Meanwhile, the NHM employees also registered their protest by getting their heads shaved collectively. Despite this, no positive action was taken by the government. After the announcement of elections on Friday, when the permanent government became the caretaker government, the NHM employees returned to their work in the hospitals on Saturday.

Nursing officers in Haryana were also protesting for their demands. The nursing officers had given a warning to the government till 20th August. According to the head of Nursing Welfare Association, Vinita Bangar, the government has cheated the nursing officers of the state. The files of dental surgeons and nursing officers were going on simultaneously with the departmental officers, but the notification of dental surgeons was issued and the nursing officers were left in the middle. Their struggle will continue. Nursing officers of many medical colleges including PGI Rohtak, Khanpur, Nuh have returned to work on Saturday.

The government had also given time till 15th August to the doctors of Haryana to fulfill their demands and issue notification. The demands of the doctors are also hanging in the balance. Similarly, the extension lecturers in the education department and the employees in the animal husbandry department were on strike for their demands, but as soon as the elections were announced, all the employees left their struggle and returned to work.
