Restaurant styled Skillet Chicken Recipe

Skillet chicken is a quick, easy, and flavorful weeknight meal that is perfect for the whole family. It is also a great recipe for beginner cooks, as it is very difficult to mess up.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

Instructions:

  1. Season the chicken breasts or thighs with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Add the onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until softened.
  6. Add the garlic powder and paprika to the skillet and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  7. Add the chicken broth to the skillet and bring to a boil.
  8. Return the chicken to the skillet and reduce the heat to low.
  9. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  10. Serve with rice, pasta, or vegetables.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in your favorite marinade before cooking.
  • If you want to make a creamy skillet chicken, add 1/2 cup of milk or cream to the skillet in step 7.
  • You can also add other vegetables to the skillet, such as mushrooms, broccoli, or zucchini.
  • If you don’t have chicken broth, you can use water instead.

Variations:

  • Lemon Garlic Skillet Chicken: Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder to the skillet in step 7.
  • Parmesan Crusted Skillet Chicken: Sprinkle 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese over the chicken in step 9.
  • BBQ Skillet Chicken: Add 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce to the skillet in step 7.
