At 41, he made a bold decision to step away from his long-standing association with India Today Group, marking the end of an era in Hindi media.

Journey with India Today Group and Rise of Lallantop

Saurabh Dwivedi began his career with the India Today Group as a Features Editor at aajtak.in. His keen eye for news and dedication to reporting soon positioned him as one of the group’s most influential editorial figures. Recognizing the potential of digital media, he founded Lallantop, transforming it into a highly respected platform known for its unique Hindi reporting style.

During his tenure, Lallantop gained nationwide recognition, particularly among younger audiences. The platform became a hub for breaking interviews, including notable sessions like the one with Honey Singh discussing his feud with Badshah.

After nearly 12 years, Saurabh stepped down as Editor of Lallantop and India Today Hindi. Kalli Purie, Vice Chairperson of India Today Group, acknowledged his contributions and vision to expand Hindi journalism. Post his departure, Kuldeep Mishra took over editorial responsibilities, while Rajat Sain assumed leadership of the Production Team, ensuring continuity of the platform’s core vision.

Saurabh Dwivedi maintains a private personal life. He is married to his long-time partner, Gunjan Dwivedi, since 2010. Reports suggest that Gunjan has been a guiding force and mentor in his life. The couple has two children—a daughter, Gaura, and a son—completing their close-knit family.

Early Life and Education

Born on April 22, 1983, in Chamrari village, Jalaun district, Uttar Pradesh, Saurabh hails from a modest family background. Early on, he displayed a deep interest in Hindi, English, and Political Science. Despite societal and familial pressures to pursue engineering, his passion for storytelling led him toward journalism.

He completed his initial education at Saraswati Shishu Vihar, followed by a boarding school in Kanpur. Though he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Allahabad University due to family expectations, Saurabh pursued his true calling with studies in Hindi Literature at Jawaharlal Nehru University, earning an M.Phil and later a Ph.D. Additionally, he holds a postgraduate diploma in mass communication from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, further solidifying his foundation in journalism.
