Fans and fellow celebrities flooded social media with warm wishes, celebrating the actor’s enduring legacy. Leading the heartfelt greetings were his former son-in-law Dhanush and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.
Dhanush’s Heartwarming Birthday Tribute
Among the first to extend birthday greetings was actor Dhanush, a longtime admirer of Rajinikanth. Posting on social media, he wrote, “Happy birthday Thalaiva,” accompanied by emojis expressing admiration and love. Dhanush, who was married to Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya from 2004 to 2024, has often spoken of his deep respect and fondness for the superstar.

Director SJ Suryah shared a special birthday video produced by Sun Pictures, showcasing Rajinikanth’s iconic roles over his 50-year career. Along with the video, Suryah wished, “Wishing our Thalaivar, the iconic SUPERSTAR @rajinikanth, a wonderful birthday.”
Actor-politician Khushbu Sundar also shared a nostalgic photograph with Rajinikanth, praising him as an institution in Indian cinema. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Praises Rajinikanth’s Charisma
Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin joined the chorus of well-wishers, posting a photo with Rajinikanth and praising his timeless charm. In Tamil, he wrote, “Rajinikanth = charm that surpasses age! An eloquence that delights everyone when you get on stage! A heart that is sincere and true to its core.”
Stalin added, “Happy birthday to my friend #SuperStar @rajinikanth, who has been enchanting audiences for over five decades! May your future projects achieve immense success and continue to inspire millions!”
Recent and Upcoming Projects
Rajinikanth continues to remain active in cinema. In 2024, he starred in Vettaiyan and appeared in an extended cameo in his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s film Lal Salaam. In 2025, he featured in Coolie and is currently shooting for the sequel to Jailer. Additionally, he will headline an upcoming, yet-to-be-titled film produced by Kamal Haasan.
