Xiaomi has officially begun releasing its HyperOS 3 update for a range of Xiaomi, Poco, and Redmi smartphones and tablets, according to a company announcement. The new firmware, based on Android 16, promises a host of improvements across Xiaomi and its sub-brands, Redmi and Poco, enhancing both performance and user experience.

How to Check for the HyperOS 3 Update

Users can easily check if their device has received the HyperOS 3 update by following these steps:

1. Open Settings on the device.
2. Scroll down to My Device.
3. Tap the HyperOS banner at the top.
4. Select Check for update.

If the update is available, the option to Download and Install Update will appear. The device may restart multiple times to complete the installation process.

HyperIsland and Dual-Island Features Enhance User Experience

The September launch of HyperOS 3 introduced Xiaomi’s HyperIsland feature, inspired by Apple’s Dynamic Island. HyperIsland provides a pill-shaped notification area at the top of the screen, allowing users to view essential alerts instantly. It also displays live activity updates and real-time charging speed when the device is plugged in.

In addition, the update offers a dual-island design, which enables users to switch, expand, and manage apps seamlessly from a single screen.
