Chandigarh Police Catches Drug Traffickers: Three Arrested, 61.14g Heroin Seized
Chandigarh, February 2025: In a major operation, the Chandigarh Police’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force arrested three drug traffickers and seized 61.14 grams of heroin. The operation was carried out under the supervision of SP (Crime) Jasbir Singh, DSP Crime Dheeraj Kumar, and Inspector Baldev Kumar.
Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested Pradeep Kumar alias Deepu (32), a resident of Sector 40, Chandigarh, on February 11, 2025, and recovered 25.44 grams of heroin. Further investigation led to the arrest of Anuj (34), a resident of Sector 56, Chandigarh, on February 12, 2025, and the recovery of 15.47 grams of heroin. Another accused, Bobby (22), a resident of Bhogpur, Jalandhar, Punjab, was arrested on February 12, 2025, and 20.23 grams of heroin were seized from him.
Investigation revealed that the accused were part of a larger network involved in supplying heroin in the Tricity area. The police are now searching for the main supplier, Aman, a resident of Amritsar, Punjab.
The Chandigarh Police has vowed to continue its crackdown on drug traffickers to make the city drug-free. DSP Dheeraj Kumar stated that the anti-drug campaign will be intensified to rid the city of the menace.
