Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series is gearing up for the next iteration, but the rollout of the Redmi Note 15 5G has taken an unexpected turn. Despite teasers hinting at the upcoming device, Belgian carrier Telenet has already listed the phone for sale, revealing specs and prices ahead of Xiaomi’s formal announcement. While the listing provides insights, potential buyers should approach the details with caution until the official launch.
Pricing and Storage Options
The Telenet listing suggests that the Redmi Note 15 5G will start at approximately €280. Subscribers may also benefit from a €30 promotional discount. The base model includes 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Xiaomi has yet to confirm an official launch date for the Note 15 series, but it has disclosed that the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset.
Display and Design
According to the listing, the Redmi Note 15 5G features a 6.77-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,392 x 1,080 pixels. The device also includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, although the exact sensor model is unspecified. Interestingly, this display size may differ from expectations, as previous leaks suggested a slightly larger 6.83-inch panel.
Camera Setup
The Belgian listing indicates that the Redmi Note 15 5G will come equipped with a 108 MP main camera, replacing the 50 MP sensor found in the Chinese model. It retains an 8 MP ultrawide lens and a 2 MP auxiliary camera. For selfies, there’s a 20 MP punch-hole camera, and the phone supports 4K video recording. Additional certifications include an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance and the EU Energy Label, mandatory for smartphones released in the European Union.
Battery and Charging
The phone measures 164.0 x 75.4 x 7.35 mm and weighs 178g. It houses a 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast-charging support. While the battery capacity remains substantial, it represents a slight downgrade compared to other recent Redmi devices, which often feature 6,000mAh or even 7,000mAh units. Compared to the Chinese Redmi Note 15 5G variant, which has a 5,800mAh battery, this model offers faster charging (22.5W on the Chinese model). Connectivity features include a nano-SIM slot, eSIM, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC.
4G Variant and Color Options
Xiaomi is also expected to release a Redmi Note 15 4G variant at a lower price point of €200. Telenet has not listed this model yet. The 5G variant, however, is available in Blue and Black color options according to the carrier’s listing.
Launch Timeline
While the global launch date remains unknown, Telenet’s early listing suggests that the official release may not be far off. Buyers should stay tuned for Xiaomi’s confirmation to get the most accurate details regarding availability and pricing.
