Overview of the Recruitment
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially announced the SSC GD Constable 2026 Notification, inviting online applications for the post of Constable (General Duty) in CAPFs, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. The application process begins on December 1, 2025, and closes on December 31, 2025 (11 PM). Candidates can submit their online fee until January 1, 2026, while a correction window will remain open from January 8 to January 10, 2026, enabling applicants to modify their submitted forms upon payment of the prescribed correction fee.
Vacancy Breakdown
This recruitment aims to fill 25,487 posts across various forces including BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, Assam Rifles, and the Secretariat Security Force. Out of the total vacancies, 23,467 posts are reserved for male candidates and 2,020 for female candidates. These figures are provisional and may be modified by the Commission based on administrative requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
To apply for SSC GD Constable 2026, candidates must have successfully passed Class 10/Matriculation on or before January 1, 2026. Applicants must also meet the prescribed age limits, domicile rules, and physical standards as outlined in the official notification. Persons with Disabilities are not eligible for this examination.
NCC Bonus Marks
Candidates possessing NCC certificates will receive additional marks in the final merit calculation. NCC ‘A’ certificate holders will get 2% bonus marks, ‘B’ certificate holders will get 3%, and ‘C’ certificate holders will receive 5%, which will be added to their Computer Based Examination scores.
Selection Procedure

Computer Based Examination (CBE)
The CBE will be conducted in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages between February and April 2026. Candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks to proceed to the next stages.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST)
PET requirements include a 5 km run in 24 minutes for male candidates and a 1.6 km run in 8.5 minutes for female candidates. Relaxations in standards apply for applicants belonging to the Ladakh region. PST will measure height, chest expansion, and other physical parameters.
Medical Examination & Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates must undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) followed by Document Verification, ensuring that all candidates meet the medical and documentary standards required for service.
Application Process
Candidates are required to submit their applications exclusively through ssc.gov.in or the mySSC mobile application. A fresh One-Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory, as older registrations on ssc.nic.in are no longer valid. Applicants must upload a live photograph and a properly formatted digital signature. Incorrect uploads may result in rejection unless Aadhaar-based authentication is used.
Application Fee
The application fee is Rs. 100, while women candidates, SC, ST, and eligible Ex-Servicemen are exempt from fee payment.
