Yamaha has officially launched the much-awaited XSR155 in India at an introductory price of Rs 1,49,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The newest and most compact member of Yamaha’s modern-retro lineup, the XSR155 perfectly blends nostalgic styling with cutting-edge mechanicals borrowed from the MT-15. Its signature round LED headlamp, sculpted teardrop fuel tank, and minimalist LCD console combine to create a timeless design language, while the upright riding posture ensures daily usability and comfort.

Engine and Performance: Power With Precision

At the heart of the XSR155 lies a 155cc liquid-cooled, four-valve single-cylinder engine featuring Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. This refined powerplant generates 18.1 bhp and 14.2 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox equipped with an assist-and-slipper clutch. Known for its smooth low-end response and crisp top-end performance, this setup offers effortless city riding and confident highway cruising. Yamaha has equipped the XSR155 with dual-channel ABS and traction control, enhancing safety and control across diverse riding conditions.

Chassis and Dynamics: Lightweight and Agile

Built on Yamaha’s proven Deltabox frame, the XSR155 features upside-down (USD) front forks and a linked-type monoshock for improved handling and ride comfort. The aluminium swingarm not only reduces overall weight but also sharpens the motorcycle’s directional response. With 17-inch alloy wheels and a neutral riding triangle, the XSR155 strikes the right balance between beginner-friendly ergonomics and engaging dynamics for experienced riders.

Customization Options: Scrambler and Café Racer Kits

Yamaha enhances the personalization factor by offering the XSR155 in four vibrant colour options — Metallic Grey, Vivid Red, Greyish Green Metallic, and Metallic Blue. To further suit varied tastes, Yamaha introduces two factory accessory kits: the Scrambler Pack, which adds a taller stance and mild off-road styling, and the Café Racer Pack, featuring a sporty seat and retro-inspired design elements. These kits allow riders to tailor their machines without relying on aftermarket modifications.
