Massive Preparations for Devuthani Ekadashi
Khatu town in Sikar is abuzz with activity as special arrangements have been made to celebrate Baba Shyam’s(Khatu Shyam) birthday on Devuthani Ekadashi, November 1st. Anticipating a massive influx of devotees, authorities have declared the entire area a no-vehicle zone to ensure smooth crowd management. VIP darshans will be fully restricted, with exemptions granted only to those adhering strictly to government protocols.
Tightened Security Measures
Security across Khatu has been significantly strengthened to handle the expected large crowds. A combined force of 2,600 police personnel, 900 home guards, and 1,200 private security staff will be deployed. The city has been divided into seven administrative sectors and thirteen police sectors for better management. To monitor the crowd, the temple administration has installed 230 CCTV cameras, all connected to a centralized control room.
Temple Decorations and Arrangements
The temple is adorned with vibrant flowers, with twenty skilled artisans working tirelessly over several days to enhance its beauty. It is estimated that between 10 to 15 lakh devotees will visit the temple for darshan. To maintain cleanliness, 250 workers have been assigned for sanitation duties. Additionally, water and toilet facilities have been set up at multiple locations across the town for the convenience of visitors.
Traffic and Accessibility Plans
Traffic arrangements have been modified to accommodate the devotees safely. The Khatu Ring Road has been designated as a no-vehicle zone. Devotees must follow a new route starting from Lamiya Tiraha to reach the temple, while residents of Khatu can enter or exit the town only by presenting valid ID cards. Special parking areas have been established for vehicles arriving from outside the town.
Continuous Temple Services and Transport Facilities
The temple will remain open around the clock, allowing devotees to perform darshan at any time. Railways and roadways have also launched additional train and bus services to facilitate easy travel. The streets of Khatu are filled with devotees carrying drums and flags, creating an atmosphere of deep devotion and celebration throughout the town.
