Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Anusuchit Jaati Morcha in Chandigarh celebrated the 648th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas Ji, a revered saint and social reformer. The event was observed as “Sant Ravidas Jayanti Week” from February 12 to 17.
Various religious and social programs were organized across different districts of the state. Amit Khairwal, state president of the BJP’s Scheduled Caste Morcha, said that the week-long celebrations would include cleanliness drives, Satsang programs, Guru ka Langar, fruit distribution at old-age homes, and providing stationery to underprivileged children.
As part of the celebrations, office-bearers of the Morcha visited various Sant Ravidas temples and Gurudwara Sahibs, seeking blessings and honoring committee members. A large number of devotees and party workers participated in the event.
Khairwal stated, “Sant Ravidas Ji’s teachings inspire us to promote equality, brotherhood, and selflessness. This event aims to make his ideas more impactful in society.” Senior party leaders, workers, and local residents are enthusiastically participating in the celebrations, which will conclude with a grand ceremony on February 17.
