Akshay Shinde was taken into custody from Taloja Jail on the basis of transit remand and brought to Thane on Monday evening at 6:45 pm . Suddenly, he snatched the revolver from Assistant Police Inspector Nilesh More who was sitting next to him in the vehicle and opened fire. More was seriously injured. Fearing that Akshay Shinde might run away, CIU Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Shinde fired 3 bullets from his revolver towards Akshay Shinde. He was seriously injured.
