Chandigarh: As soon as the assembly elections were announced in Haryana, the Congress party approached the Election Commission against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. Congress has filed a complaint on the basis of the transfers made by the state government on Friday. This is the first complaint by any political party against the ruling government after the announcement of the assembly elections.
The Central Election Commission had announced assembly elections in Haryana on Friday. Meanwhile, the government transferred IAS, IPS officers in the state as well as Tehsildar and officers in many other departments. On the basis of these transfers, K.C. Bhatia, Chairman of Legal, Human Rights and RTI Cell of Haryana Congress, has said in his complaint that after the announcement of elections by the Central Election Commission, the Haryana government has transferred officers in many departments including one District Deputy Commissioner, ten Additional District Deputy Commissioners, 12 IPS and three HPS officers in the state.
This is a blatant violation of the Election Commission’s guidelines. According to Bhatia, the code of conduct has been implemented as soon as the elections were announced. In such a situation, the government has no right to change the bureaucracy as per its wishes. Congress has demanded an investigation into this matter from the Election Commission and action against the state government.
