Pune District is set to host the annual “Vijaystambh Abhivadan Sohala” (Victory Pillar Salute Ceremony) on Thursday at Perne Phata, Bhima Koregaon Village, Shirur Tehsil. Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has confirmed that the administration is fully prepared to ensure the event runs smoothly, safely, and with enthusiasm.
Collector Highlights Preparations and Public Cooperation
Collector Dudi emphasized the importance of this annual celebration, noting that meticulous planning has been undertaken this year due to the anticipated increase in participant turnout. He assured that all measures are in place to avoid inconvenience for attendees. The planning process incorporated suggestions from local organizations and citizens, reflecting a community-oriented approach. Dudi urged everyone to celebrate the ceremony peacefully, with restraint and dignity.

Health Services
- 23 health centres set up to manage medical needs.
- 43 ambulances on standby.
- 286 beds reserved in 18 private hospitals with 155 trained personnel.
Sanitation Measures
- 33 inspection teams monitoring canteens and water tankers.
- 80 garbage collection vans deployed.
- 2,800 toilets available for public use, maintained by 265 sanitation workers supervised by 260 officers.
Water and Amenities
- 150 water tankers deployed, with 200 staff stationed at water filling points.
- 9 “Hirkani Rooms” established for nursing mothers.
Road and Infrastructure Maintenance
- Repairs along Perne, Koregaon Bhima to Pimpale Jagtap Road, and Dhrangewasti.
- Filling of murum and soak pits at water points to ensure smooth access.
Security Arrangements
Pune City Police Commissionerate
- Deployment includes 1 Inspector General, 3 Deputy IGs, 20 DCPs, 8 SRPF platoons, 3 Quick Response Teams, 14 anti-sabotage squads, 18 Bomb Detection and Disposal (BDDS) teams, 650 Homeguards, and 4,700 police personnel.
- 251 high-tech CCTV cameras with face recognition installed.
- Parking for 20,000 four-wheelers across 19 designated areas.
Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC)
- Force deployment: 4 DCPs, 8 Assistant ACPs, 45 Police Inspectors, 171 Assistant/Sub-Inspectors.
- 1,325 constables, 650 wardens/homeguards, 2 surveillance vans, 3 Riot Control Units, and 1 QRT in place.
Pune Rural Police Force
- Crowd management at the samadhis of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Govind Gopal Maharaj in Vadhu Budruk: 33 senior officers, 332 other officers, 3,010 constables, 1,500 homeguards, 4 SRPF platoons, 10 striking forces, 4 RCP units, 2 QRTs, and 7 BDDS teams.
- Surveillance through CCTV, drones, and PA systems.
- Fire brigades, ambulances, and NDRF teams on standby for emergencies.
Traffic and Parking Management
- Ahilyanagar/Mumbai-Nashik Route: Parking at Toronto Gas and Jategaon Khurd Chakan Road.
- Administrative and Police Vehicles: Torna Parking.
- Vadhu Budruk Visitors: Inamdar Parking, with PMPML shuttle services from Koregaon Bhima.
- Police issued specific traffic diversion orders to ensure smooth flow.
Public Transport by PMPML
- 375 buses operated on Wednesday, with 1,260 buses deployed on Thursday.
- 4,200 employees assigned, including two staff per bus, reserve drivers, and technical support.
Additional Services
- BARTI: 310 book stalls arranged.
- Public Works (PWD): Floral decorations at the Victory Pillar, lighting, area maintenance, press room, and marquee arrangements.
- Electricity: Continuous power supply ensured by MSEDCL and PWD Electrical Department.
