Launch and Pre-Booking Details
Mahindra has officially announced that pre-bookings for the XUV 7XO facelift will commence on December 15, with the launch scheduled for January 5. The automaker revealed these timelines through its social media platforms. Along with the facelift, the SUV will receive a new name: XUV 7XO, marking a refreshed identity for the popular XUV700. The original XUV700 debuted on August 14, 2021, and has since crossed 300,000 units in sales. Currently, the XUV700 is priced between Rs 13,65,800 and Rs 25,14,000 (ex-showroom).
Engine Options and Performance
The XUV700, now evolving into the XUV 7XO, comes with two engine choices:
- 2.0-Litre Turbo-Petrol Engine: Produces 197hp and 380Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
- 2.2-Litre Diesel Engine: Available in two power outputs. The lower variant offers 153hp and 360Nm with a 6-speed manual, while the higher tune delivers 182hp, generating 420Nm with manual and 450Nm with automatic transmissions.
These engines are expected to continue on the XUV 7XO facelift, with diesel variants likely driving most of the demand. Mahindra may also retain the all-wheel-drive (AWD) option.
Design Upgrades
Inspired by Mahindra’s recently launched XEV 9S electric SUV, the XUV 7XO facelift is anticipated to feature a refreshed exterior:
- Front Design: A more upright nose, new full-width LED DRLs, redesigned LED headlamps, and a modern grille.
- Rear Design: Updated taillamps and newly patterned alloy wheels.
Interior and Technology Enhancements
Inside, the XUV 7XO facelift could see major cabin upgrades:
- A triple-screen layout for infotainment and driver display.
- Premium Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos.
- Redesigned climate control panel.
- Addition of Level 2+ ADAS, building upon an already extensive feature list in the current XUV700.
Expected Price and Competition
The Mahindra XUV 7XO facelift is expected to be priced between Rs 14,00,000 and Rs 26,00,000 (ex-showroom). The SUV will compete with rivals like the Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus, offering a combination of performance, technology, and updated styling to strengthen its market presence.
