Every year on 19th November, International Men’s Day encourages us to pause and reflect on the men who enrich our lives — fathers, brothers, partners, friends, and colleagues who often carry responsibilities quietly and selflessly. This day celebrates their strength, resilience, kindness, and the countless ways they contribute to the world, often without seeking recognition.
It also shines a light on an essential truth: behind every calm exterior lies a world of unspoken emotions. International Men’s Day urges us to create safe spaces where men feel comfortable being heard, valued, and supported — not just for what they do, but for who they truly are. It challenges outdated notions of masculinity and redefines strength as the courage to embrace vulnerability, to express emotions, and to seek help when needed.
Aarya Babbar’s Reflection on True Masculinity
Aarya Babbar, who portrays Kalikant in Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah, shared his heartfelt thoughts on the significance of the day.
According to him, manhood is not about wearing a mask of toughness, but about allowing oneself to feel deeply and stand firmly by one’s values, even in silence. He emphasises that true masculinity is rooted in compassion, respect, and the ability to uplift others without losing one’s identity.
To Aarya, a real man is someone who listens without judgment, loves wholeheartedly, and leads without ego. Masculinity is not defined by dominance or the need to prove oneself, but by
integrity, empathy, and responsibility.
As we celebrate the men around us, he reminds everyone that it is perfectly okay for men to ask for help, express themselves openly, and prioritise their emotional well-being.
A Day to Celebrate with Pride and Purpose
As International Men’s Day approaches, let us honour the men who inspire us, support us, and shape our lives every day — and celebrate the occasion with heartfelt appreciation and undeniable swag.
