India Celebrates International Day of Yoga on 21st June
International Day of Yoga is here every year on 21 June beginning around 2015, following its commencement in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014.
International Yoga Day 2022 India: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday performed yoga at the headliner of the eighth version of the International Day of Yoga in the legacy city of Mysore in Karnataka.
In excess of 15,000 individuals partook in the Yoga festivities alongside the Prime Minister at the Mysore Palace grounds.
Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Union Minister for Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal, and authorities of the Ministry of Ayush and the Government of Karnataka and different dignitaries performed yoga at the occasion.
To stamp the 75 years of India's freedom, the Ministry for Ayush recognized 75 areas for Union Ministers to partake in the Yoga Day festivity.
It was during his discourse at the UN General Assembly in September 27, 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi originally drifted the possibility of the International Yoga Day. The draft goal passed by India was upheld by 177 countries. With widespread acknowledgment and developing prevalence of Yoga, the United Nations pronounced June 21 as the International Day of Yoga on December 11, 2014.
