By Sandeep Juneja
Ramchand Pakistani, a good story and script. The screenplay is nice enough to attract audience from every class. Mehreen Jabbar made her debut in the Indian film industry with this movie. Being a Pakistani, she had instilled her flavors in the movie. The movie showcase the cultures of border cities of Rajasthan of both the countries. Movie shows the Indian side of the Jails and a small village story-side at Pakistan.
Ramchand, son of a laborer parents (Champa and Shanker) who live at the border village in Pakistan. He crosses the border line unknowingly and lands into jail of India. The movie is all about his stay at the jail amongst criminals and other occupants. The life of young boy who spends a few years from his childhood in the jail and his experiences here. The movie is all about his growing up to adolscent age and his getting into bad habits due to bad company. Some nice shots from the background and imaginatory scenes make the movie more pleasant.
Overall Rating should be 5/5. As the movie is made with a low budget but with nice concept and storyline. Nandita Das looking stunning in her Rajasthani-laborer's attire. She has done justice to the role of mother of Ramchand.
