Mumbai once again under shock of Terrorist attack. A few militants said to be from Pakistan, occupied Hotel Taj Heritage, Hotel Oberoi, Hotel Trident. After the action by armed forces, Mumbai police, and NSG special anti-terrorist force a few militants were killed. As if now a few terrorists are hiding in Nariman Building. The area surrounding Nariman building has been vacated, and only Army personnels are there doing the anti-terrorist operation (Operation Black Tornado).
Approximately, 198 people (including some foreign nationales) have been killed and 327 have been wounded badly in this attack. A total of 18 foreign nationals have been killed in the assault, and 22 are reported injured. A total of 20 Army & NSG personnels got killed during rescue operation.
While handling this operation some of the Army personnels and some officials have also been killed. Those who sacrificed their lives are Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, NSG hawaldar Gajendra Singh and ATS Chief IPS officer Hemant Karkare.
The other police officer who died in Wednesday night’s terror attacks in Mumbai included Vijay Salaskar, who had killed around 75 dreaded criminals in police encounters. Vijay Salaskar has been a visible and brave police officer of Mumbai and has been at the forefront of Anti-Crime activities in Mumbai.
The other officer who laid his life to the nation is Ashok Kamte, a 1989 batch IPS officer, was the DCP, Zone 1, in Mumbai and was also the key officer in state police. He had also served as the commissioner of Sholapur and was always known to be in the thick of action.
Army is on the final stage of their encounter with terrorists and they have entered the Nariman building house, where the terrorists are hiding. It is reported whenever force personnel tries to enter the house, terrorists attack with hand grenade or fire some rounds. Army Chief at the location says that they will hold the whole situation under their control by evening today. Hotel Trident is under control and hostages have been got freed from there after killing 2 more terrorists.
The whole nation and all the communities condemn this attack. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh condemns this attack and calls PM and President of Pakistan. PM has asked Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani provide some Intellegence News about the attacks. He also requested him to send ISI Chief to India.
Pranab Mukherji addressing media said the evidence shows the hand of some Pakistani influence. And, they are trying to get to more details.
US will send a team of forensic scientists and intellegence experts to India. This will work with India's intellegence to probe into the terror attacks and this attack in particular.
Gujarat Chief Minister while talking to media shown grief towards the nation and to the victim families. He also announced a help of Rs. 1 Crore for the affected families. Mahrashtra Chief Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh also announced a helping had of 25 lakh Rupees along with the Government job for one sibling from the victim families.
The whole world is shocked with this terror attack as its counted as one of the most intense attack so far. People of India, especially youth, are in rage and state of depression. Some students feel "We as a nation should come up as one unity. We give condolences to the families who have been victimized and should come up with the solution to this kind of attack, if our leaders dont."
