Maruti AStar Launched in Chandigarh

By Sandeep Juneja

Maruti launched its new hatchback car AStar in Chandigarh city on November 22nd, 2008. The car is on display in all the premium dealers in and around the city.

This car has a lot more to say about. With lush black and grey two-tone interiors the car is packed with a 1000 cc engine with a good mileage promise from the company. The car is slightly bigger than Alto but smaller than Wagon R, with a little lesser boot space from both of them. Less in bootspace but has larger leg room than Alto. Company promises the car will provide 18 to 19 KMPL mileage, which is best in its class. The car has highest speed 180 KMPH, but can easily turn the road on fire by touching 140 KMPH.

The car has width as equal to Maruti Swift but its rear look is unmatchable to any of Maruti's previous models. The top most model of AStar comes with the in-built music system and with sarene Red dash board and speedometer backlights. The AC of the car is quite effective and doesn't have any effect on the moving car.

Astar has Overall Length 3500 mm, overall width 1600 mm, overall height 1490 mm, and its wheelbase is 2360 mm. The car moves at 67 PS maximum power.

The car comes in three variants LXi, VXi and ZXi. The LXi model being the base model has AC, Powersteering but No power windows and it comes with starting price tag of 3,57,000 Rs. (Ex-showroom Chandigarh price). The car is available at one month's booking notice and in 9 colors (Azure Grey, Arctic white, sunlight copper, midnight black, paradise blue, silky silver, healing green, bright red, desert brown.)

The car looks promising and gives competition to its rivals in the market. The car will see its perspective buyers in January and we can see another Maruti car rolling on the roads of the city.
